"Blessed is the man who does not walk to the counsel of the wick.
Or stands in the way of sinners,
or sit in the seat of mockers.
But delights in the law of the Lord, on his law to meditates day and night.
He is like a tree planted by steams of water, which yields it's fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
Not so the wicked! They are like Chaff that the wind blows away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in judgment nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
For God watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish."
Psalms 1
Psalms 1 has been my memory verse for the last month. I'm reading through a book right now called His Word in My Heart by Janet Pope. The book really encourages memorizing scriptures and stealing God's word away in your heart. This book has been challenging me to memorize scripture to better understand Gods word.
My next challenge will be memorizing the book of James. James has always been a favorite book of mine. God has lead me to the book a couple of times in my life. The first chapter of James starts off talking about trials in your life. I can relate to this... my hubby has been laid up for 7 weeks (and counting) with a hernia disc that's putting a lot of pressure on his sciatic nerve. So there is a fair amount of stress! And poor Jes is getting sick of laying on the couch and not working.
James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the 12 tribes scattered among the nations. Greetings.
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance... (James 1:1-3)
